The Student Center at the Jordan Campus of Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) had complicated geometries that required the most innovative steel framing. DuraFuse Frames accommodated the amazing architecture of this 50,000 SF building, while providing enhanced seismic resilience. DuraFuse Frames reduced the steel costs on the building by more than 20%, with cost savings from: increased column stiffness, elimination of field welding, optimized design, and decreased connection weights.
During construction, the building was shaken by the 2019 Magna earthquake, and did not experience any damage. Read Technical Bulletin
